I want to change the /var/spool/mail directory to an other location, because I have not enough space left (on this partition).

Then there's an easier solution, that keeps
/var/spool/mail where it belongs, and it is generally a good idea to leave default locations where they should be:
Mount your spare partition at
/var/spool/mail. The command might look something like this:
mount -t ext3 /dev/hd
sparepartition /var/spool/mail
This is one of the beauties of the linux filesystem: you can "tack on" whole filing systems pretty much wherever you want.
