Captive and Mandrake 10.1

Hello,
I am so happy I got mandrake 10.1 offical to work even though it was a pain, due to a bad download I had to mix and match commercial and official but it is running nice and stable. I was searching the fourms and I found a neat little program called captive. I downloaded the RPM version installed it, it worked great on the install I ran the captive-install-acquire as it says on the site. My big problem is that I still can not write to my windows NTFS drive. I also go to do what it says about the Captive-cmdline stuff and it won't work right i get this error:

[
Captive-ERROR **: image_iochannel open failed
aborting...
Aborted (core dumped)
Code:
[root@localhost root]# captive-cmdline load-module=/var/lib/captive/ntoskrnl.exe

Captive-ERROR **: image_iochannel open failed
aborting...
Aborted (core dumped)
[root@localhost root]# captive-cmdline \ > --load-module=/var/lib/captive/ntoskrnl.exe

Captive-ERROR **: File/device disk image pathname command-line argument requiredaborting...
Aborted (core dumped)
[root@localhost root]# captive-cmdline \
> filesystem=/var/lib/captive/ntfs.sys

Captive-ERROR **: image_iochannel open failed
aborting...
Aborted (core dumped)

that is where I got the program and I am logged on as root as of now.. I was hoping someone could give me a hand. I can read the hard drive like always but no writing. This sort of makes me sad cause I have wine and cedega so I was going to have fun. Anyone ever use this please help me guys.

well, under linux the names of external HDDs can change by every new start!!! So, sdf3 can became sdc3 or sdg3 or...

Captive-ERROR **: image_iochannel failed open of:

This means simply that the drive with the given name is inexistent.
Workaround example:
assuming you or the program created in /mnt a folder named captive-volume,
type 'mount' in the console, check in the output for the new drive name and assuming such new name be sdd1, type:

su
umount /dev/sdd1
mount -t captive-ntfs /dev/sdd1 /mnt/captive-volume

you will be able to write to the drive only as root. You can use the kde file manager in superuse mode avoiding a new login.
ntfs-3g seams work better as captive, no need for root privileges.
have fun!
