Unhappy Captive and 2.6.10

Hi there,

I'm trying to get read/write access to my ntfs partition but have been having problems all the way.

I'm using Gentoo 2004.3 with the 2.6.10 kernel and tried to first of all emerge Captive and was told it was a masked package, masked by x86 keywords, so I typed:

Code:
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge captive
and managed to get it installed, but now when I want to mount the damned partition I get this:

Code:
Laptop root # mount -t captive-ntfs -o 'umask=0000' /dev/hda1 /windows
mount: fs type captive-ntfs not supported by kernel
I have no idea what to do now as ntfs support IS compiled into the kernel

HELP!!!!

Chris

captive usually is built as a module. is that module loaded into your kernel?

ndiswrapper           106340  -
tried modprobe:
