hello gurus,
need help once again. i recently installed federa core 6 in my linux box. i would like to watch movies using my dvds but it wont do it. i have installed totem-xine with all its goodies (libdvdnav and libdvdcss) to no avail. i have 1 cdrom and 1 dvdrom. when i insert music cd to my cdrom drive, it works perfectly. but when i insert dvd movie to my dvdrom, it doesnt do anything (no cd display on desktop). however, when i insert music cd to my dvd rom, fedora picks it up and can be played. is there something i am missing? i tried mounting using:

mkdir /media/dvd
mount /dev/dvd /media/dvd

but doesnt work. maybe i'm doing it wrong.

any suggestions will be appreciated.

Have you opened the totem-xine app and set it to the dvd drive?
I would say if you want it to autostart an app depending on the type of media then that would require addition setup which I am sure can be done.

i typed in

dvd://

under movie->open location tab in totem-xine. still doesnt do anything.
am i missing a step?
