Exclamation cannot copy video cd's in rh9.0

I have installed rhlinux9.0 on my pc and after logging in to root account i

have inserted a video cd(vcd) in to my dvdrom.and mounted as usual i

could see all the contents in the dvdrom like( vcd, mpegav etc.. )and then i

tried to copy the video cd in one of my vfat partition but iam not able to

copy the vcd in my vfat partition or in my root partition or in the disk .i have

tried changing my dvdrom by cdrom and also tried copying with many vcds

but iam getting the message like cannot copy read error(abort, skip etc.).My

system configuration is p4,2.40ghz,512mb ram,40gb hard disk,sony

dvdrom. And i hope that i will be getting any solution for this problem.

You sure the VCDs are clean and not scratched? Give them a good wipe and put them in your CD-RW, then try and read from there.
