can not install ubuntu in intel 82845G board

Friends.

I have intel 82845G Gigabyte board.

I can not install ubuntu 7.04 in my PC.

When I put the LiveCD, on probing for the Display,
the monitor goes blank.

I can not get any diaplay.
so can not install ubuntu.

All others say that 82845 board ha s resolution problems.
but, i even can not install.

help me.

Don't be surprised that it doesn't work. Ubuntu's installer is pretty bad. I can strongly recommend Debian. The installer has both console (primitive graphics) and a pretty GUI installer. Both work great. When the CD-ROM boots, just enter "install" and you are off and runnning. Later on you can install the resolution package that should work for you just in case debian can't make it work.
