Can dial into isp but cant go anywhere

I am using Slackware 9.1. I am using wvdial and I can connect to my isp but I cant go anywhere with firefox. I did choose loopback with netconfig and still it doesnt work. I did upgrade my kernel to 2.6.5 lately could I have forgotten a module?

Do you have your DNS server in /etc/resolv.conf? Something like wvdial, i don't think anyway is going to take advantage of dhcp.
