How have you tried installed xmms?

Try "yum install xmms" as root. Alternatively, try Add / Remove Programs.

XMMS is often regarded as legacy software these days. It may be worth having a look at one of its excellent replacements, such as Bmp, Rhythmbox or Amarok. These have more functionality, and integrate better with current distros.

I hope this helps

You are getting the missing glib error because you probably do not have glib-devel installed (not glib2-devel because its a different package). Anyway using yum as described above is probably easier in the long run.
