[SOLVED] Can't get past ubuntu login page

Hi, I have Ubuntu 11.04, last night I installed GAdmin-Squid. This morning, I woke up and I can't get past the login page of my computer. Whenever I enter my password, it just returns me to the login page. I've tried sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubuntu-desktop, but that didn't fix the issue. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Hi there,

Login to command line and check: /etc/kde4/kdm/kdmrc file and check the following:

AllowRootLogin=true
HiddenUsers=root (for security purpose)

I did this but it returned an error Bash: couldn't find file /etc/kde4/kdm/kdmrc. The others seemed fine but I still can't get past the login page

One guy was facing the similar problem. If you do not see kdmrc file in there. Copy it from the above thread where I have attached after editing.
