Can't Configure HP 5p Scanner w/ Redhat 7.1

Hello,

I have installed Redhat 7.1 and have had only one major problem. Although my ISA (SCSI) card for my scanner is detected by RH while loading, I am unable to use XSANE. I get a message saying that it can not find a device. I have tried loading the proper module sym53416C, but the system will not allow me to load it even by forcing the io and irq settings. I believe it has something to do with the auto-detection during boot-up. The card is being set to io=0x000 eventhough it should be set to 0x0200. Does anyone know how to stop the auto-detection so that I can set it up manually. I had it working under RH 6.2 by manually configuring it. If anyone knows anything about this problem I would appreciate some help.

Thanks,

Maxxiesgang
