Caching Login

I am using winbind to authenticate with my laptop to my Active Directory server and that works great, but I would like to be able to take my laptop home and still be able to authenticate using my network username and password. I tried using kerberos tickets but that seems not to work because if I run a kinit it tells me it can't reach the server. Any help would be apperciated.
