C Compiler

ok, so i have managed to install the GNU C Compiler, but i can not find it on the system, i found a GCC file in /user/bin, which was an executable file but it didnt open anything, any ideas???

.............the C Compiler, im completely new to this so im still trying to get used to linux, i have installed the GCC, but i dont know how to open it.

You'll have to create a C file, then run 'gcc thatfile.c' to compile it.

ooooo ok, ive been using the c compiler on windows XP and i thought i would have an application to open on Linux, thanks for your help

You might want to have a look at kdevelop or something similar if you want a full IDE.
