bssid not associated airodump-ng ubuntu 10.10

Airodump-ng is showing stations that it picks up and the AP's but it doesn't show any stations connected to an AP. I have about 8 networks that I'm picking up and about 14 stations but they all say not associated. This is constantly like that, not once has it shown a station connect to an AP. I have been running airodump-ng for over a week.

My problem is that my roommate and I just got a wireless network, that his uncle set up for us, and we don't have the new password. Since his uncle is away for an undisclosed period of time, I decided to try my hand at cracking it (his uncle uses simple passwords). Anyways, how would I go about de-authenticating a station if they are "not associated"?

I have a zd1211rw usb card that I tried patching with the following patches:
zd1211rw-inject+dbi-fix-2.6.26.patch (Hunk Failed)
mac80211.compat08082009.wl_frag+ack_v1.patch (Success)
channel-negative-one-maxim.patch (Success)

As you can see, the first patch failed but the other 2 succeeded. I looked around online to see why it failed but I have no idea. Anyways I compiled the new driver then unloaded the old one and installed the new one.

To sum up:
* I want to patch driver with zd1211rw-inject+dbi-fix-2.6.26.patch (compat-wireless)
* I want to figure out why I can't see any association between stations and AP's.

Any and all info with be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Most routers have a hard reset button that sets the router back to the factory default usernames and passwords. That would let you set it up with passwords you know. If you look up the brand/model online you can probably find out what the defaults are.

That's another part of the problem, the router and modem are in his uncles apartment across the hall. Anyways his uncle came back last night but I would still like to know what the solution to this would be in case it happens again.

[solved]

I figured that there wasn't something quite right with the patch after it having failed against multiple builds of compat-wireless. I checked around here and found the patch zd1211rw_inject_2.6.26.patch. This patch worked like a charm and I could successfully install the other 2 patches as well. Packet injection is working and I can see stations associated with APs, I also noticed that I am capturing a lot more data than before. Handshake successfully captured!!

Hi everyone

I have the seem issue with an rt2x00usb & mac driver. Airodump shows me STATION but didn't show any BSSID. I have tried all aircrack patches but no luck, some succeed, some reject and didn't work. I don't know where to find the appropriete patch for my case because your patch will not work for my case because different driver and shipset.
