Ok its like this.
# wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode AP bssid
thats supposed to create an Access Point with a bssid different to that of the underlying mac address.
It comes up as 00:00:00:00:00:00
However netstumbler still sees it with the the real mac.

So I tried this
wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode AP bssid
ifconfig ath0 down hw ether 000123456789
sleep 1
ifconfig ath0 up

The real mac still pops up in netstumbler.
This won't work because you need to change your mac address before you put the card in master mode. However I can't do that because madwifi-ng creates the card as a device and assigns the bssid at the same time. Changing it after wont't help.

Does anyone have any ideas other than using the older drivers?
