Brasero md5 sums .......
I am experimenting with Brasero on Debian testing. I like the program but it has very little in the way of documentation and I was wondering about one of the options. Apparently when you check verify integrity you get a file with a list of md5 check sums on the cd. The file name is .checksum.md5 . It has a list of all the files on the cd and a check sum for each file. Just for the heck of it I ran md5sum on a couple of the files to see if the check sums would match. They didn't! And when I used the program md5deep it came up with the same sums that md5sum did and none of them matched the ones in the file generated by Brasero!!! I had Brasero check the disc and it said everything was OK! I'll add that I tried both the binary and text options on md5sum. The files ARE all right because I compared 'em with the originals! I suspect I must be doing something wrong but I have NO idea what!!!! Stuff like this keeps me awake nights!! So if anyone knows what is going on I would really appreciate your help.
