Black Screen Of Death?

OK I downloaded Mandrake 8.1 from http://east.dl.sourceforge.net/ but I've been having some problems with my server/the CDs/and getting it to boot.

Ok So I downloaded the ISOs for 8.1 but when i went to burn them with FireBurner, I got an error saying the Sectors were wrong and weren't a multiple of some number, would you like to burn anywayz? So i did but when I insert the CD into the drive, I get no pop-up window at all.

So now, some of you may think thats where the problem is, but then I said let me use the cd of Linux 7.2 that I had burned a while back and see what Linux is all about with regards to being a server. I boot up and I get the Linux Screen, I press enter and then BOOM! Black Screen, the PC seems to be working at times but nothing on the monitor.

The same thing from above ^ is happening with RedHat 7.2. Any Suggestions?

I'm using a P1 200, 96 megs RAM. This is merely a test server for me to try out Linux with by the way, my real server is a gift from a relative which I get in a month. heheh Its a 1 gHz badboy!! Can't wait till i get that!!!!

some windows burners don't deal with .iso files properly. there's a howto around about it somewhere that goes over the various burners giving tips on how to get them going proper.

And check md5sums, they must match with the ones provided by Mandrake. Go googling to find md5sum utility for windows, I am sure there is one.

Already Tried that, and everytime the md5sum is wrong for some reason. And I think it is the server itself, because the mandrake 7.2 cd worked with my normal AMD 900 mHz PC but not with the server. Any ideas?
