Berly Customization Help

I've read through some of the documents on beryl's website but I still don't know how to customize beryl to what I want it to be. One of the things i want to change is when i rotate the desktop cube i want to change the background of the top two squares to whatever i want it to be. I also what to make the cube transparent so i can see the other sides. How do i do this?

Hi,

Execute the beryl-manager program. It will show up as a red diamond in your tray. Right click on it, and at the top, should be something like "Emerald settings" and "Beryl settings". Choose Beryl settings, and explore its menus to find what you want to tweak.

Those are called "caps". You'll have to make changes to your ~/.beryl/settings file to point beryl to the file (image) of your choice.

instead of running beryl-manager you could just run beryl-settings, no real difference though, you;'ll want to look in the cube/skydome areaif i remember right

I don't get a beryl settings or a emerald setting when I right click just a beryl theme manager.

Try running beryl-settings from the command line. That should bring it up for you. Otherwise, it is the first option in the right-click menu of that 'red diamond'.

Ok i found my problem that i didn't have beryl-settings installed but now I installed it it gives me:

Join the club - I had the same error. What you can do first is look for the berylsettings module in an earlier version of Python and then move it to the newest one. I did actually find berylsettings in /usr/lib/python-2.4/site-packages so I moved it to /usr/lib/python-2.5/site-packages, which stopped that error, but now I get an error for module gtk.
If you happen to figure this out, please post it!

I looked on the beryl support forums and nothing on it.
