Benchmarking programs for clusters

I have a friend who recently built a cluster out of some old unused boxes. He has been wanting to test the floating operations per second, but me and him have been unable to find any programs that do it. If anybody knows of some good software please point me in the right direction.

BTW I did check out the UNIX.com benchmarking forum but did not see any results that looked like they would relate to the flops. So if I am missing some data on the results please let me know.

In case it matters he is running Slack 9.1 with the 2.4.22 kernel. By the time he is done it will end up being 6-7 boxes.

If you need any more info let me know.

Thanks
Jeremy

EDIT: My friend wanted me to mention that he is doing it across both AMD and Intel architecture.

well this is one of the lines from lmbench from unix.com
Arithmetic Test (type = float) 335329.0 lps (10 secs, 6 samples)

seems like flops to me

Yeah I noticed that, but if you put that in megaflops it would be .335329 or 335.329 KFLOPS which doesn't add up for any current processor. So I don't believe it is what I am looking for.

Any other ideas?

Thanks
Jeremy
