Around 6 days still no Postfix

Just like the title says. Info about my setup:

Red Hat 9
default packages

Smoothwall Express 2.0 (port 2525 forward to 25 on mail server IP [] Port 110 open to mail server IP address [] and port 8080 forward to 80 for webserver)
email server is on the orange network192.168.1.X kept seperate from my green network 192.168.0.X Red network to my ISP (dailup) I have a DNS server for my internal network should I open a DMZ pinhole for port 53?

Using Webmin

Domain: bnettech.net

FQDN: mail.bnettech.net

dynamic IP provided by dyndns (updated by smoothwall dyndns feature).

mailhop_realy provided by dyndns (allows someone to setup a mail server even though ISP blocks port 25. This is why I have this port open on smoothwall. The dyndns server wiill (I think) catch email for my domain and then foward the email to me on port 2525. The MX record for my domain is [Domain: bnettech.net MX mx1.mailhop.org, mx2.mailhop.org]

postconf -n
alias_database = hash:/etc/postfix/aliases
alias_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/aliases
command_directory = /usr/sbin
config_directory = /etc/postfix
daemon_directory = /usr/libexec/postfix
debug_peer_level = 2
default_privs = nobody
home_mailbox = Mailbox
inet_interfaces = all
mail_spool_directory = /var/mail
mailq_path = /usr/bin/mailq.postfix
manpage_directory = /usr/share/man
mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, $mydomain
mydomain = bnettech.net
myhostname = bnettech.net
mynetworks_style = class
myorigin = bnettech.net
newaliases_path = /usr/bin/newaliases.postfix
readme_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix-1.1.11/README_FILES
relay_domains = $mydestination
relayhost = mx1.mailhop.org
sample_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix-1.1.11/samples
sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail.postfix
setgid_group = postdrop
soft_bounce = no

I am at wits end here. Above note the relayhost = mx1.mailhop.org Is this neccessary? I can send email out to the internet from the server itself but not from any of my email clients. When I test out the account from Outlook the SMTP server is found, POP3 server is found, logon to server is good, and test email is sent but I never get anything. I have tried from other places to send mail to the server without luck. In outlook I place for "Outgoing SMTP to be mx1.mailhop.org" and "Incoming POP3 to mail.bnettech.net" Is this config correct? Should it all read mail.bnettech.net?

I have read here and there many places but there is something going wrong that is simple. I just need to know what. All I want is a BASIC email server.

Whenever I do send and email from the SERVER itself the from address is "administrator@localhost.localdomain" I added the administrator account because that is the name I wanted for a specific purpose. Also when ever I try to send from outlook I get this "Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: sdfd
Sent: 7/26/2004 12:14 AM

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'leonb6@hotmail.com' on 7/26/2004 12:14 AM
550 Relaying Denied"

And also the logging onto email server would fail saying somethign about ports and/or SSL.

I would very much appreciate any and all help. I setup Apache and FTP with little issues.

Cool some thoughts

your post helped me find my problem, so here are some suggestions to yours (if you haven't fixed it already)

I don't know anything about dyndns, but I do know that the mynetworks_style parameter gave me problems before.
I set it up manually in the end by commenting out the mynetworks_style parameter and using mynetworks.

mynetworks = so.me.ip.addr/somenetmask

for example mynetworks = 220.132.15.0/26, 192.168.25.0/28, 127.0.0.0/8

you just add addresses and masks till you've covered all of your groups of hosts

The relayhost thing I think you've got right.

Good luck,
Brad
