apt-get install "package"


I installed Mplayer using apt-get, it was pretty simple . I'm curious what packages are avaiblle for apt-get.

well if you got apt from freshrpms you could just go to the site:

freshrpms.net

And click packages and then look at the list. Also there are many many repositories and if you add them to your /etc/apt/sources.list you will then have all the packages in theat repository at your disposal.

better yet, get synaptics - gui frontend for apt.

The whole of Debian is available using APT. It's really useful!

apt-get install synaptic

That gives you a gui interface for itl
