okay, same problem as above

tried everything that linksocc suggested, verbatim, and nothing i do either to the .dlls or the config file makes any difference. i still get the same old "unable to create blank document" error message. i've tried two different versions of WINE, kazaalite 1.7, 2.1.0, and 2.4.3, all to no avail. i'm running mandrake 9.2 with xfce4 as my graphical desktop if that makes any difference (though why it should...?). it just seems to be one big fat "no can do"

and giFT is not the ideal solution it's made out to be either - i've downloaded the latest mandrake 10.0 rpms from ftp.planetmirror (gift, libgift, apollon, libapollon, openft, and fasttrack) and that won't work either. (and yes, i have all the updated 10.0 packages i might need - i point to a mandrake 10 mirror too, hence xfce4)

i'm beginning to think i'm fated not to fileshare...
