another newbie with mandrake 10 probs


i have just downloaded mandrake 10.0. burnt the isos,then tried to install i get past the first screen then i am presented with a screen which has mandrake across the top and on the bottom of the screen it has 3 options. i try to enter alt+f3 as my choice and nothing happens it just hangs there.i have tried putting disk 2 in which brings up a screen with options to boot from the cd which i try it then asks for the right cd to be inserted which i do and i end up where i started ,anybody have any ideas

I'm sorry, but I'm having a very hard time understanding your question. You may want to word it a little better and maybe somebody could help then.

The install manual is here

Take a few minutes and read the first chapter or so.

I don't remember any screens where you have to press ALT+F key combination...

What is the option it's asking you to make a choice about

alt+f2 brings you to expert mode, but its not usually listed on then first screen.

F1 (no alt+) will give you a help page

I thought you just pressed enter to install?

As a general, summary comment, I think it's safe to say that the specific problem here has not been made clear.

owldbartle -- please provide additional details. Thanks. People here are trying to help, but without a clear understanding of the issue, it's hard to make any useful suggestions. -- J.W.
