AMSN Interface Isn't Working after install of Tcl/Tk on RH9

I tried installing AMSN on RH 9, and I installed tcl/tk. AMSN runs, but when it opens, the gui is messed up. I think a menu comes up, but its only the first part of the menu, and the letters are massive. The window takes up the whole screeen. I dont' know what to do to fix this and have been looking around for the answer. I'm fairly new to linux, so explicit detail would be much appreciated. Thanks.
