Also, after Open Office is set up, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I will need to operate a good desktop office computer? (In the sense of programs.) I am at home, but will be bringing this computer into my office where I currently have no internet access. I need to have as much of the basics as necessary, especially living in a Windows world where I am at. Thanks again,
John

In this case pack as much as you can. Multimedia, Games, Office tools, C/C++ Compiler and tools.
On the other hand you can always download at home and put packages on usb-stick or burn on CD
