Adding KMAIL to desktop and panel

I just installed kubuntu, and for some reason KMAIL isn't on the desktop or menu/panel.

How can I put a link on my desktop as well as my panel menu?

Right click Panel->Add to Panel->Application->Internet->KMail

after that you can drag&copy it to desktop.
