Activating email links

I am using Evolution as part of my Gnome desk top when running Suse 10.1.
If I click on a link embedded in an email, I am not redirected to a website. I have single clicked and double clicked these links, but nothing happens. How do I activate them?

You should be able to set it with gconf-editor;
about the 3rd one down;

Thanks Comprookie2000,
I went to the link, read it and don't understand it. The only way I know to access my computer is either through the Control Centre or YAST on Suse 10.1. How would I therefore go about applying the advice given in this posting, which does appear to be correct:

A GNOME user would run the "Preferred Applications" utility
(gnome-default-applications-properties) to configure this graphically.

You can also use gconf-editor to manually modify the following entry in GConf:

/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/

Set "command" to something like "firefox %s" or "epiphany %s".
Set "enabled" to true.

You can also do this for https and other URLs.

If I read this correctly, there appear to be two ways of solving my problem, one doing thisgnome-default-applications-properties)
and a more difficult way using some esoteric commands!

Could you please assume I know nothing about manipulating Linux. I have been using it for 5 minutes and am a clicker.
Thanks for your understanding and patience.

I found Preferred Applications after all, change a few things and now the links work perfectly. Thanks for your help!
