VPN Server Error Message

I am trying to setup a VPN server but I keep getting an error message in the syslog file, and the pptpd service doesn't run.

I'm using LinuxMint in a VirtualBox environment, but I've also installed OpenSuse and am getting the same problem.
The machine is configured with a static IP (192.168.0.3 in bridged mode), and internet connectivity works fine. I can SSH into the machine without a problem. However when I try and start the pptpd service (or restart it) I get this error in the log file and the service seems to fail, as I can't connect via VPN or even telnet on the VPN port (1723).

MGR: Bad IP address (10.0.0.2-200#015) in config file!

The error relates to the address I put as the remoteip setting, and I have tried numerous different ranges.

I can't figure out why the exact problem is occurring on two different virtual machines.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

hi,

I tested yours config file on ubuntu 10.04LTS + virtualbox 4.1.8-75467.

your config files is working.

Only add to this lines
"test pptpd test *"
to chap-secrets.

root@ubuntu-x64-01:/etc# cat ppp/chap-secrets
# Secrets for authentication using CHAP
# client server secret IP addresses
test pptpd test *

Maybe you can test ubuntu server 10.04 LTS.
