Ubuntu 8.10 PE1750 - DELL PERC 4/Di Driver for OMSA - Storage Controller NOT FOUND

Hello All,

PROBLEM:
I've installed on a PowerEdge 1750 H/W and done the following to lead to this issue:

root@ubuntu:~# omreport storage controller
No controllers found

*Please note the WEBGUI shows everything else EXCEPT the PERC*

*EVERYTHING ELSE IS SHOWING UP ON SERVER WHEN I LOG*

Loading via CLI:

/etc/init.d/dataeng restart

/etc/init.d/dsm_om_connsvc restart

/etc/init.d/snmpd restart

I've installed the DELL OMSA from this LINK manually:

ftp://ftp.sara.nl/pub/sara-omsa/dist...a/binary-i386/

dellomsa_5.5.0-5_i386.deb

SPECS:

QUESTION:

Does anyone know how to configure the remaining portion of the DELL OMSA so the PERC shows up in the GU or OMREPORT?

Also, I want to upgrade the FIRMWARE, will this be ok [I can load Windows XP Mini to do this task]

FW UPDATE: http://alturl.com/nnob8

Thanks,

Thank you for suggestion.

If I could migrate to newer OS, I would but this is server in production and can't have any downtime. I didn't originally setup and tech that did never installed anything to monitor hardware. There is a HDD issue and I'm trying to fix RAID. Reason for OMSA request. Ubuntu also isn't supported by DELL unfortunately. This is based of Debian Intrepid build.

If anyone in similiar situation has a driver they know will load for perc 4/Di. Please share details.

Thank you,
Kent C.
