With regards to the SAMBA vs. cloud server thing,... I would just go and set up the SAMBA server and tell them, "It's up!!! See how it works!!!" Setting up a SAMBA server would take,... What?! ... 20-30 minutes?!?! It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission...

When you move it, are you editing the smb.conf accordingly?

yes yes pointing and also selinux labling is correct but it is moving empty folders, files are missing. nothing in log files. permissions are correct. I have user and group quota on shared file system and want to move deleted object to hdd without quota users not to reach limit with deleted files. also recycle want to be hidden from users, because if user will delete accidently files then can empty trush all files will be lost forever.

Interesting topic! I have a question strongly related to this. I was wondering how a dynamic cloud server like this one works in comparison to OpenStack? What are the major differences between these clouds? I'm a little lost!

What are the entries in smb.conf (for recycle bin / trash)? Can you paste the same or with an example?

now they are on same file system where is quota enabled. on other file system if i point recycle even if I change context for samba_share_t, still moving just empty foldera. here is working example on same file system.

[Shared]
comment = Free
path = /data/shared/share
writable = yes
directory mode = 0755
create mode = 0755
valid users = @world
hide unreadable = yes
access based share enum = yes
veto files = /*.mp3/*.exe/*.avi/*.mpg/*.mkv/*.mpeg/*.msi/*.mp4/*.bat/
vfs objects = full_audit recycle
recycle:repository = /data/shared/rbin/U
recycle:versions = Yes
recycle:keeptree = Yes
recycle:touch = Yes
recycle:maxsize = 0
recycle:exclude = *.tmp, *.temp
recycle:exclude_dir = /tmp
full_auditrefix = %U|%I|%m|%S
full_audit:success = connect mkdir rename unlink pwrite
full_audit:failure = none
full_audit:facility = local1

point the recycle to other file system and then in smb.conf modify the entry
from
vfs objects = full_audit recycle

to
vfs objects = full_audit recycle crossrename

restart the samba service and share the output with us .
