Try to locate the folder you shared and change permissions on it with:
chmod 765 /your/shared/folder
I expect you have configured your samba config-file for security=user. But there are few more steps needed:
1. You need to create authentication data in ./samab/private/smbpasswd. You can use the smbpasswd command like this:
It will ask you the password twice.
2. After you created login data you need to set in smb.conf
in section Share Definitions
a valid user direction for your shared folder:
comment = my share
path = /shared
public = yes
valid users = username
writable = yes
printable = no
3. After this, just for sure, log off your windows account and log in again. Now you should be able to access your folder.
Logoff - somtimes windows remember old login information and although you enter new login and password it still wants to use the old one.
Let us know how it worked
