Greetings everyone I have a doozy or at least it seems like one to me. I'm by no means an expert but I don't think I'm a novice either, anyway heres my setup.
Ubuntu 9.04
Apache2 webserver (multiple virtual domains)
postfix (successfully configured to relay to my gmail hosted email)
Websites that email
Alright the problem is after getting all this configured because the spam police don't like email coming from a dynamic IP (yes I'm that cheap not to by a static IP), when someone registers or purchases something the from: address is the relay account. Is there a way to configure postfix to change the outgoing address to the one belonging to the domain/website it is generated from?
I see in the logs the generic
www-data@domain.com but it's always changed.
In gmail I have configured the domain alias so the account has multiple aliases there to send to or from. (ex: sales, support, etc.)
In summary:
Multiple websites/domains
Outside email hosting - gmail
Relaying configured successfully (partially)
Can I configure postfix to change the outgoing address to the proper website/domain it is coming from? Gmail has been configured with the aliases.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
