postfix alias domains

Im setting up a virtual_alias_domain and a virtual_alias_maps

essentially i want to except mail for another domain and deliver to a mailbox on my server. I have this working on one red hat machine, but the message gets stat=queued on two others. I cannot figure out what the delta is. Does anyone have any ideas on how i can troubleshoot this?

let add to this, one the server that works my relay is this

relay=local or here is the log entry

to=<mailbox.user@myserver.work.com>, orig_to=<Mailbox.alias@other.domain.com>, relay=local, delay=0, status=sent (delivered to mailbox)

on the box that gets queued i have this

relay=root@localhost

Apr 17 12:37:12 myserver sendmail[454]: l3HGbCDH000454: from=root, size=5, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<200704171637.l3HGbCDH000454@myserver.work.com>, relay=root@localhost
Apr 17 12:37:12 dellin10 sendmail[454]: l3HGbCDH000454: to=Mailbox.alias@other.domain.com, delay=00:00:00, mailer=esmtp, pri=30005, dsn=4.4.3, stat=queued

any ideas why this is different?
