Nagios comes with tons of plugins to monitor almost anything. Have you looked in the libexec directory which plugins are available to you? If the check_dns plugin/script which you should have in that directory doesn't do what you want, then you can always check out the variety of DNS plugins at
Nagios Exchange. Also, a Google search turns up loads of valuable documentation.
