mail server user authentication problem

Hi friends,

I am configuring a mail server which have postfix and courier IMAP. For user authentication I am using openldap. The virtual users are able to send and receive mail. What problem I am facing here is the system users are also send and receive mails. I need the solution how to disable the local users to send and receive the mail.

LDAP is not actually an authentication module, though it's often used by authentication modules as a form of communication. A courier IMAP server has several different options when it comes to setting up authentication. Take a look at the link, take a look at your configuration file for your courier server and disable the authentication modules you don't want in the configuration file.

Since your question appears to only be "how to disable email for local users", did you try reading the Postfix configuration guide, or referencing their documentation?? There are examples on how to do this:
http://www.postfix.org/STANDARD_CONF...ON_README.html
