Can't you see how doing that defeats the purpose of your other thread?

Please explain if monitoring is officially required? Phrased differently: please explain if there are regulations this monitoring has to adhere to and if so, which one(s)? I ask that because is there is a difference between what standards for example a government (say NISPOM) or an industry (say PCI-DSS) or local Privacy Laws would set / mandate versus (un?)regulated local company policies. Knowing the authority means knowing where to find the list of requirements, documentation and implementation guides if any.

What software or methods do you use for surveillance and to create your audit trail? The reason I ask is that knowing what is already implemented helps make suggestions more efficient as they would be thought suitable for or could be adapted to your situation.

Sure there may be requirements that add complexity but at the base an UI doesn't change how local and network data is handled. For example logging "write" system calls with the audit service works for CLI tools like Midnight Commander as well as UIs like
Worker and logging FTP traffic works for CLI tools like lftp as well as say
Filerunner. As I said before: let's base suggestions on what you have implemented.
