User management can mean different things to different people. You seem to have gotten into the habit of posting questions without explaining anything. This leads to members posting suggestions which are then rejected by you because you failed to mention any requirements or restrictions that you should have. So please be as complete and verbose when asking questions. (It also helps us to gauge if you made any effort at all doing research yourself.) And when your question is solved we expect you to actually post or indicate the solution or fix ("got it" like you posted in your Online Shell thread is not enough) and mark your thread "solved". You already posted a thread about user monitoring (http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ux-4175439406/) you never responded to. Best do that first.

Hi unspawn

yes, you correct, Now i understand How to post and how to ask/response the Threads as well, Thanks.

Still i am working with User Account Management and daily basis facing lot of issues about that, that is why i am posting here like that.. lets i will explain my issues here, Still I have to monitor user Activities in my network, so I traced all activities but some users trying to access some Directories and services using GUI, that is why i was asking " How to monitor user GUI activity" and I have to Maintain centralized user history That is why i am asking "How to Redirect User History's"

This is my environment , so i have to raised the thread about "User Monitoring and management tools"

Could you please suggest me the tools/Softwares which is helps to my envirnment ..

Thanks

Can't you see how doing that defeats the purpose of your other thread?

Please explain if monitoring is officially required? Phrased differently: please explain if there are regulations this monitoring has to adhere to and if so, which one(s)? I ask that because is there is a difference between what standards for example a government (say NISPOM) or an industry (say PCI-DSS) or local Privacy Laws would set / mandate versus (un?)regulated local company policies. Knowing the authority means knowing where to find the list of requirements, documentation and implementation guides if any.

What software or methods do you use for surveillance and to create your audit trail? The reason I ask is that knowing what is already implemented helps make suggestions more efficient as they would be thought suitable for or could be adapted to your situation.

Sure there may be requirements that add complexity but at the base an UI doesn't change how local and network data is handled. For example logging "write" system calls with the audit service works for CLI tools like Midnight Commander as well as UIs like Worker and logging FTP traffic works for CLI tools like lftp as well as say Filerunner. As I said before: let's base suggestions on what you have implemented.
