I want to echo/tunnel Realterm-type serial connections

I am trying to create a socket or socket pair on a linux server so I can, for instance, run two instances of Realterm on other computers and connect and communicate between the two via the external server.

I think it can be done with netcat or socat, but there are so many options, I'm finding it confusing, and I'm looking to do something quite simple.

I should be able to run the two copies of Realterm and select port: <ip_addr>:<socketa> in one process, and <ip_addr>:<socketb> in the other and they just echo back and forth the data coming in their respective sockets.

(I am running the Realterm copies in Windows, btw)

Also: Is there a socat/netcat equivalent for Windows?
