how to extend / partition size in ext2 format


Dear all,
how to extend / partition size from new attached HDD. currently / partition in ext3 format i am using RHEL 5.5..

If this is not a logical volume but a basic partition then sfdisk partition editor could be used in rescue or single user mode. Ensure that you have free sector/cylinders adjacent to / partition on disk. If possible share fdisk -l output here.
