Fetching mail

Hi,

I have configured .procmail to deliver the incoming mails to $HOME/user-mail/user, but MS Outlook cannot fetch mails from this location, it only recognizes the default location of /var/spool/mail/user.

Is there anyway using which I can tell Outlook to use the changed location?

Thanks.

I don't follow - Outlook doesn't see any location on your linux box, it talks to a server that serves it mail.

WHat it the setuo you are using - what machine has what on it, etc. What distro are you running (please don't say RH9 - bin it now).

You are going to need an imap or pop server of some description. Have you ever set one of these up?

Well it is RH9 and the machine is an intel pentium 4 , OE is on a windows XP machine again a pentium 4.

IMAP and POP3 are setup using the RH9 xinetd services from the redhat provided package imap-2001a-18.

Please let me know if you need any further info.

So if imap is actually running (have you tested this?) it should be logging something into your mail log. Try and access with Outlook, and post the relevant lines from the log
