Hi,

I am using Linux. I have three NICs. One is enabled with IP address. Any tips on how I can enable the other Nic? Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to LQ,

Could you please post what distro you are using? Check at console level with the command
Code:
dmesg
if the other NICs are listed so you know if they are detected.

Kind regards,

Eric

you can also from the terminal try
Code:
ifconfig ethX up
ifconfig
change X to a number. Most of the times it will default to 0 so I would start with 1. this will attempt to bring up ethX and then it will output any information about all NICs'

if it came up you can try
Code:
dhcpcd ethX
or
Code:
dhclient ethX
this should have the NIC request a dhcp address.
