Intel D845GLLY + Multiple Intel Pro 100 NICs + kernel 2.6.x = NICs don't work
I have an Intel D845GLLY motherboard. It has an on-board Intel Pro NIC. I also put in 3 half-height Intel Pro 100 PCI NICs. When I use the default 2.4.26 kernel that comes with Slackware 10, everything works fine. But when I move to a 2.6 kernel (220.127.116.11, 2.6.10) the networking stops functioning. If I pull out the PCI NICs, the onboard NIC works fine under the newer kernels. If I put in 1 PCI NIC, that one and the onboard NIC work fine in the newer kernels. If I put in Second PCI NIC, they stop working.
I have tried going into the BIOS and setting a different IRQ for each PCI slot, but that did not solve the problem. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
