hi are you trying to join the domain from a windows xp system if so
right click on my computer and click on properties click on the computer name tab then click on change
where you see domain and workgroup change the domain to your domain
the you will need the root password and your samba password
this can only work if you have set up your samba correctly with the
machine name and password and smbpassword on your server
