I have installed RHEL 3.0 on a server having cups-1.1.17-13.3.6 installed. The service is stated at the time of booting only. If i am giving command "lpstat -t" then i am getting errors as follows :

"lpstat : get-classes failed : server-error-service-unavailable
lpstat : get-printers-failed : server-error-service-unavailable
lpstat : get-printers-failed : server-error-service-unavailable
lpstat : get-printers-failed : server-error-service-unavailable
lpstat : get-jobs failed : server-error-service-unavailable".

I have formatted the server & installed the os freshly. But after 8-10 days once again the same problem is occuring.

I have checked the file "/etc/cups/printers.conf" which is showing me the printer details defined.

What will be the problem ?

you no permission for the directory and files.
