You'll have to provide more detail than that. There are books written on Backup and Recovery that are filled with options and possibilities. The choice of what to use and how to do it depend on the details of what you are trying to accomplish and what your resources are.
what i need to have script that backup my files (data back up) to external drive..and next time it will back up only updated files only so that time will be save.I cant tell what to use but tell me what i can use as a newbie admin

You could try rsync, or perhaps BackupPC (which is now being worked on by Zmanda as a complement to Amanda).
Those are both fairly basic, open source applications that can do the sort of thing you are asking. With a bit of effort, you can do snapshot-style backups with rsync.
