Full Backup....

I am on the process of installing RedHat Linux 8.0. I was wondering what tool is it available out there where I could take the complete backup of my current system, Windows XP. This tool should also be helpful when I ever intend to do a complete format to my system, where I could only load the backup then everything is back to state (profiles, system, programs etc).

Any tool out there to do the task?

Have a look at "Paragon Drive Backup". I have used a demo version of this programme to create an image of my Windows ME installation (with drivers and updates loaded).I havent had a chance to try it out yet, and to be honest I will be suprised if it works.
If you dont mind formating, installing, backingup and then wiping your drive you could test the programme, but its alot of work isn't it.

oops
I forgot to say that I backed up the windows ME partition with "PDB" running in XP from drive D. I think it can also be done over a network.
Good luck!

I regularly use PartImage to do full backups. Since it must be run off an unmounted drive I use it from Knoppix. It is experimental with NTFS. Another commercial option is DriveImage or Norton Ghost.
