another NFS permission denied problem

Hi,
i have 2 PCs with Debian and user-space NFS running.
Here's the facts about the server:

/etc/exports
Code:
/shared/kostas/work_projs/sqo-oss sqo-oss(rw,sync)
/shared polideukis(ro,sync)
/shared home(ro,sync)
/shared kastor(ro,sync)
/etc/hosts.allow
Code:
ALL
and nothing in hosts.deny. I mention here, that the server serves flawlessly 3 other clients.

The client (sqo-oss) has the following entry in /etc/fstab
Code:
pimp:/shared/kostas/work_projs/sqo-oss /home/kostas/sqo-oss nfs defaults,rw 0 0
But here's the weird thing in /var/log/syslog of the server:
Code:
Sep 2 19:25:18 pimp mountd[18341]: NFS mount of /shared/kostas/work_projs/sqo-oss attempted from 192.168.1.6
Sep 2 19:25:18 pimp mountd[18341]: /shared/kostas/work_projs/sqo-oss has been mounted by 192.168.1.6
But it has not been mounted! I get "permission denied"

Any suggestions?
Thnx

Check the following thread out on NFS issue, permissions, fstab... http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=572314

Did you create the directory (non root) on your client machine, what are the permissions on that directory, and will need to allow users to mount the NFS in fstab.

I had the same problem last week. For me, the problem was not having the NFS server running, which seems to be the default. You may want to check it with “rpcinfo –p” and start it up via the SysV scripts if you have not already.
