Wireshark sniff msn question

When I start listening my eth0 and set filter to "msnms contains "text/plain"" all I can sniff is my own conversations.
What should I do to sniff the whole lan?

Have you read the LQ Rules? http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/rules.html

So if you are asking how to sniff other people's (private) traffic, you will not get help here
