umask help


have try to set umask u=rwx,g=rwx,o= in /etc/profile. i can read or delete files created by any group members but i can not modify the file if i open the file and try to save it again it ask me for a new file name. how do i set the permision so that any file created by any group members can be modify by another

i use fedora core 3 and access the files from windows through samba

Filespermissions over Samba/windows are not handled by Umask in /etc/profile.

You can use fmask,dmask,gid and uid as mount options.

Look into the manpage for details
