Question In need of the best port scanner there is!

I don't mean to start a mine is better type of thread, but I am desperatly trying to find a good port scanner to use for testing my firewalls. I have had mixed results with both yaps and superscan. Can someone recommend a good scanner?

Nmap

Have you not tried nmap? If not, I highly recommend it.

nmap has proved particularly good for me, I can also send you some source code for another port scanner that can tell you whats running on each port that a mate hacked together if you like.

hping2 is an excellent tool. xnmap is the easiest to use and nessus, well not as easy to use as nmap but generates lovely reports.

I'd suggest a nmap scan combined with a security scanner with Nessus
