How come i done have ip_always_defrag file?


echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_always_defrag
bash: /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_always_defrag: No such file or directory

Shouldnt i have this file on my box. Im running RedHat 7.1

It may depend on the kernel version. I'm using 2.4.5 and it isn't in the list of possibilities for this version.

/usr/src/linux/net/ipv4/sysctl_net_ipv4.c

Fragpackets are now rebuilt before any packet filtering is done, so that option is no longer needed on RH 7.1 and higher.
